Who are we?

We are a small dedicated team from all walks of life, each of us with a different interest and specialty, but with a common goal to learn, protect, conserve, educate and truly appreciate this amazing piece of our planet.

Why?

“The truth is: the natural world is changing. And we are totally dependent on that world. It provides our food, water and air. It is the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it.”

– Sir David Attenborough

Runaway Creek is a rainforest preserve of immeasurable ecological value, historical significance and aesthetic beauty. The first time that Cindy and her late husband Larry stepped foot at Runaway Creek, they knew it was special and needed to be protected. She is continuing the legacy of this nature reserve by furthering research, education, and protecting it from development, all while supporting the wonderful staff of passionate conservationists.

What?

We plan to bring you news on conservation, research, updates on our staff and animals, flora, cave discoveries and other similar topics.
